Dieses Buch ist einfach super. Wer englisch kann und sich auch nur ansatzweise für Wirtschaft und Finanzen interessiert, muss das einfach lesen - man versteht plötzlich sehr viel besser, wie es zu dieser ganzen Geschichte kommen konnte. Natürlich ist es kein volks- oder betriebswirtschaftliches Buch, und es lindert leider auch keine Pein - aber wer verstehen will, wie das damals mit den Subprime-Hypotheken war und warum die Menschen in Wall Street damals so und nicht anders gehandelt haben, der ist mit diesem Buch bestens bedient.

Zuckerman's book describes in detail John Paulson's investments, his research, much of it done by Pellegrini, strategies but also emotional situation. Zuckerman also describes in detail other investors, also mentioned in other books, such as Lahde, Burry, Green, Lippman (had UBS had it's Lippman, things would have gone differently for this bank...). Each book on the mortgage and subprime crises adds additional information and views from different angles. This book provides a huge amount of information on Paulson, and covers extremey well the emotional stress these investors went through prior to becoming the "Kings" and then the scapegoats.

So kann man das Buch sowohl im Flieger, als auch in der Wanne oder im Bett lesen.Doch wer die wirtschaftlichen und politischen Zusammenhänge verstehen will, greift zu anderen Büchern.
